چکیده
As community attitudes change, healthcare costs and adverse events spiral, and evidence accumulates, the healthcare system is steadily recognizing the importance of moving towards more holistic and wellness-based models. Such models reduce costs and lead to better therapeutic outcomes. The ‘ESSENCE of Health’ is the basis for the Health Enhancement Program (HEP) taught as core curriculum for all medical students at Monash University since 2002. This program has been found to significantly benefit medical student’s wellbeing as well as teach important clinical skills and scientific content. The ESSENCE of Health is outlined more fully in a book of the same name. 3 It is an acronym which stands for:
